David Goggins, Can’t Hurt Me Book Review

David Goggins, Can't Hurt Me | Master Your Mind & Defy The Odds

I started my 12 weeks challenge a straightforward habit and that is to put in morning exercise Monday to Friday and after a few weeks in, I started to implement reading into my routine. I decided that since I have only read about three books for my entire life, that I would put at least 30 minutes into reading.

Yesterday which is the 14th of November, I have ended my 12 weeks challenge which I have completed four books. I’m really happy with this self-improvement because I have gained some knowledge through real stories and one of them is David Goggins, his book Can’t Hurt Me – where we master our mind and defy the odds.

Along the way I decided that I would do a book review whenever I complete a book and David Goggins, Can’t Hurt Me is my third book review and I’m happy to share with you, who this book is for and my personal takeaways on how he helped me towards my own potential when it comes to my running.

30 minutes of reading – Book Review Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins

I have recently book review Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins, who’s been inspiring for the past month to get back into running. The toughest man in America with problems growing up in a nightmare environment, unable to read and overweight. Transform his life around and became an ultra-runner and set records in
endurance events to breaking Guinness Record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours.

David has inspired me to train and work towards my first 50K ultra and hopefully more in the future. Once lockdown is over, I am looking to organise events around running and other activities too.

Should You Ready David Goggins, Can’t Hurt Me Book?

We are inspired and motivated by people who came through so much adversity and prejudice their entire life and then manage to defy the odds by callusing their mind. If you are an average Joe and Jane like myself in our society where we been dealt bad cards and growing up with circumstances that we feel is out of our control, then this book is perfect for you in a way that will help you push past your obstacles with challenges that you can take by using the accountability mirror.

We have the power and control of our actions and what we do moving forward with shape the course of our future. David Goggins suggested that we write down a few things that we want to achieve and slowly work on one thing at a time.

How Does This Book – Can’t Hurt Me Help Shaped Me?

For one most of my life, I did not know that I can push past the limit that there is a limit that you can go past and that is the 40% rule. We are capable of going past that 40% because most of us quit when we reach that specific point and using pain and suffering, we can get past that 40% and earn 50% and maybe 60 and 80% of our potential. He’s got me out there running longer and pursuing running by working harder committing and stay consistent with my training so I can get past that 40% capability.
